2016 – 2017 Light Rail Construction Timetable

Work is underway to build Canberra’s light rail network. Stage One is from Gungahlin to Civic. Here are the key construction dates for each stage.

Zone 1: Gungahlin Terminus to Hibberson Street

Commences mid 2016, early works mid 2016, main works late 2016, completion early 2018

Zone 2: Flemington Road North

Commencement mid 2016, early works late 2016, main works late 2016, completion late 2017.

Zone 3: Flemington Road South

Commencement mid 2016, early works mid 2016, main works late 2016, completion late 2017.

Zone 4: Federal Highway

Commencement mid 2016, early works mid 2016, main works late 2016, completion early 2018.

Zone 5: Northbourne Avenue

Commencement mid 2016, early works mid 2016, main works mid 2017, completion early 2018.

Zone 6: Civic terminus

Commencement early 2017, early works early 2017, main works early 2017, completion mid 2018.

Mitchell Depot

Commencement, early works and main works mid 1016, completion early 2018.

Overhead wires, cabling and final testing

Early 2017 – late 2018.
