In October 2015 the ACT Government released its Light Rail Master Plan as
the Light Rail Network. It is a visionary document, looking 25 years into the future. Read

At this stage, only the Gungahlin to Civic route, Capital Metro Stage One has been funded and planned. It is likely that the Russell extension will be built in 2019. Construction on Stage One will commence in 2016.
The proposed routes to be built over a 25 year period are:
- Gungahlin to Civic (Capital Metro Stage One)
- Parliamentary Triangle
- Woden to Civic
- Tuggeranong to Woden
- Eastern Connections (Fyshwick and the Airport)
- Belconnen to Civic
- Molonglo to Civic
